FAQ

  1. Can I use the code in my project?
Yes. Unless otherwise stated, all code provided from piddlerintheroot is opensource under the MIT License.
More details can be found here: https://opensource.org/licenses/MIT
  2. Why is a component listed in your tutorials that I purchased not working/defective?
There are number of different factors that could contribute to this issue. It especially well known that low-cost hardware originating from China may have quality-control issues.
The items listed on Piddlerintheroot are provided by independent third-party suppliers, and it is our recommendation that you do your own research and perhaps purchase several of the same components from different manufacturers for your projects in the off-chance that you encounter such issues.
  3. Why haven’t you answered my question in the comments?
Unfortunately, due to the high volume of questions and limited bandwidth/manpower at Piddlerintheroot we are unable to guarantee that your question will be answered in a timely fashion or if at all. We are currently researching approaches to address this issue, so hopefully in the future we can improve on this.
  4. Why haven’t you covered all the material for a particular component/topic?
The intent of the tutorials is to provide users with a limited technical background the ability get up and running with various components on the Raspberry Pi platform. For this reason the tutorials are limited in scope and formatted in a way to reduce as much complexity as possible. (You can think of the the tutorials as building-blocks)
The great thing about this is you can always build upon the bare-bones solution yourself and integrate other tutorials into your projects.
  5. Can you do my homework?
No, this is cheating. It is also heavily frowned upon in programming circles to ask this question, just FYI. Google is your friend.
  6. How can I donate/support the channel?
Thank you for your support. Simply purchasing items from the affiliate links, liking, and subscribing go a long way. If you would like to donate directly we are currently evaluating setting up a Patreon account in the near future.
